Lara Merriken built LÄRABAR from kitchen experiments into a national brand and later led the company through its acquisition by a Fortune 500 company. Early on, she took a shelf-stocking job at Whole Foods to learn the business from the ground up. That curiosity still influences how she works. She knows first-hand what leadership asks of a founder once more people and more consequences begin resting on each decision. Since LÄRABAR, her work has focused on the human side of building and growing a business. She holds a Master of Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Southern California, and is honored to serve on the board of trustees at Kent Denver School.
